Our true strength is intermodality: three rail tracks on the quay move high volumes of containers directly from sea to rail. This is a concrete choice for efficient, sustainable logistics—a bridge to the future that the Group is already strengthening by doubling its rail facilities.
Strategic Hub
Messina Terminal connects directly to the Northern Italian market through daily rail services. Our three private gates and infrastructure links optimise intermodal transport, significantly reducing CO2 emissions. Rail transport now accounts for nearly 90% of flows between the port and inland terminals.
Capacity
The Terminal spans 253,000 mq, featuring 1,350 meters of quay, 5 to 6 berths, and a draft of 11.5 meters. We offer a storage capacity of 10,000 TEU and 11,000 mq of covered warehousing. Our full range of services includes container storage, maintenance and repair, a bonded warehouse, and specialised handling for IMO and Reefer cargo, supported by a 7,000 mc temperature-controlled area.
Multipurpose
Messina Terminal is a Multipurpose facility capable of handling any cargo type, including containers, Ro-Ro, general cargo, cars, commercial vehicles, machinery, yachts, boats, and exceptional transport. This versatility makes us unique in the Northern Tyrrhenian area, backed by decades of know-how in handling special, project, and rolling cargo with cutting-edge stowage solutions.
